Jenn LeBlanc has several constants in life that define her: Colorado, Canon, CJ, kids and curls.
Born and raised in a household of other people’s children in this beautiful state, very nearly with a camera in hand, she never left. She talked about escaping; but that never happened. She started her own family, got used to the curls, went to college, built a CJ, and started a business, all with a Canon in hand.
Jenn has experienced photography from both ends of the spectrum, and shoots everything from art to studio to documentary, film to digital, 35mm to medium format. She obtained degrees both in fine art as well as photojournalism and garnered numerous accolades and awards along the way from peers and industry leaders. She is currently working on an extensive commercial studio project while freelancing in the Denver area to get her newsroom fix. Iris Photo Agency is her brainchild. She handpicked the first seven members, and from there has given it freedom, much like her children, her curls and her camera. She volunteers for the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep when possible, and has several long-term documentary projects in the mix. She has also had images featured in a Larimer Square boutique for the past 18 months and in July is headed to the Gulf to work on stories related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Jenn lives and thrives off chaos and the constant flow of creative process and she spends a great deal of time networking with other photographers and journalists, answering questions, giving and taking advice, commiserating about the loss of the Rocky, the future of publishing, and the direction of world in general. If she can’t shoot what you need, she knows who can.
